Michel Roth

I’m a Linux system engineer. At work I build and maintain Linux infrastructure for clients, from single servers to Kubernetes clusters. At home I run my own infrastructure, which is where new tools get tested before they go anywhere near production.

How I work

  • Automate, don’t repeat. Recurring work becomes a playbook, a script or a pipeline.
  • Everything in Git. Configuration, infrastructure and even this website: traceable and reversible.
  • Lab first. I rebuild new technology myself and write a runbook before it goes to a client.
  • Simple beats clever. The best solution is one you still understand at three in the morning.

Focus areas

Linux (Arch, Debian) · Ansible · Kubernetes (k3s, Cilium, Argo CD) · Podman & Docker · Proxmox · networking & security (nftables, WireGuard, Caddy) · identity & SSO (Authelia, LLDAP, OIDC) · CI/CD with Forgejo

What I’ve built with these is on the projects page.
